Mrs. Zelma Brown Manzo, 90, of Tillatoba, MS, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS.
Mrs. Manzo was born May 8, 1935, in the Corinth Community of Heard County, GA, daughter of the late Glover Marion Brown and Mamer Norred Brown. She was raised in Hogansville, GA, lived in College Park, GA for many years and retired from federal civil service with the Army at Ft. McPherson before making her home in Tillatoba. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church while living in College Park and became an active member of Tillatoba Baptist Church after moving to Mississippi. Mrs. Manzo loved tending to her plants, feeding hummingbirds, and was an active supporter of Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritans Purse.
Survivors include her daughters, Shannon R. Manzo of Tillatoba, MS and Sheryl Cates of Byhalia, MS; son, Frank D. Manzo of Tillatoba; and her granddaughter, Jordanna B. Twilley of Smyrna, TN.
A brief service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Joe Holcomb officiating.
The family will greet friends at the graveside and has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Operation Christmas Child.
