Mrs. Wynell Smith Windom, 90, of Grantville, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Fairburn Health Care Center.
Mrs. Windom was born December 11, 1928, in Grantville, daughter of the late Cecil and Lucille Pitts Smith. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, she retired from Grantville Mills after 55 years of service, had been a long-time member of Grantville First Baptist Church, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and had been a member of the Grantville Garden Club.
Survivors include her son, Mark Pettite and his wife Shirley of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter in-law, Amanda Pettite of Newnan; step-son in-law, Wayne Davis and his wife Ellen of Mississippi; sister and brother in-law, Jackie and Emmett McCall of Villa Rica; brother, Terry Smith of Tucker; grandchildren, Brian Pettite, Ginger Fetter, Katie Pettite, Karlee Pettite, Clay Pettite, Cory Pettite, and Janet Cunningham; three great-grandchildren; and step-grandchildren, Chuck Davis and Jennifer Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Windom; son, Boyd Pettite; and step-daughter, Pat Davis.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
