MR. WINFRED M. BOWEN Mr. Winfred M. Bowen, 56, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2014, at West Georgia Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with Brother Ron Fancher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately before and after the memorial service. Mr. Bowen was born August 21, 1957, in Atlanta, son of the late William James Bowen and Lena Maxwell Bowen. He attended Bass High School in Atlanta, lived in Athens before making his home in Greenville five years ago and was Baptist by faith. He was a house painter by profession and loved his work until his health declined. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and playing with his grandchildren, Mason and Kassidy, who were his life. Survivors include his brother, Bill Bowen of Bainbridge; sister, Joyce Fancher and her huband, Ron of Five Points, AL; two very special grandchildren, Mason and Kassidy Reddoch of Villa Rica; and special friends, Linda Gresham and family of Douglasville and Diane Bowen of Villa Rica. In addition to his parents, who were formerly of LaGrange, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Bowen of Atlanta and R. J. Bowen of Franklin; sisters, Kathy Lewis of Dacula, Brenda Dossett of Locust Grove, and Becky Gaddy of Hogansville; and a special nephew, Milt Creamer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
