MRS. WILMA BROWN
Mrs. Wilma Denney Brown, 74, of Grantville, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Atlanta Medical Center.
Mrs. Brown was born December 28, 1939, in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of the late Ocie Lee Denney and the late Ary Butler Denney. A resident of Coweta County for 40 years, she was Baptist by faith and enjoyed working hard to provide for her family. She loved to garden and can, was known as an outstanding cook, enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid animal lover.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Tucker and her husband, Tony of Grantville; step-son, Randy Brown and his wife, Nicole of Senoia; sisters, Brenda Coleman of Newnan, Sara Mapp of Roanoke, AL, Dorothy Gentry of Five Points, AL; brother, Bill Denney of Oxford, England; grandchildren, Greg Townsend and his wife Tracey, Leann Wacaser and her husband Alan, Kyle Tucker and his wife Jade; 4 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her beloved dog, Benji, also survives her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby F. Brown; step-son, Bobby F. Brown, Jr.; sisters, Offie Carter and Geri Johnson; and brother, Kermon Denney.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
