Willie Gerald Martin

Mr. Willie Gerald Martin, 81 of Newnan, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Born December 3, 1940 in Marianna, FL, Mr. Martin was the son of the late Willie Woodrow Martin and Bertha Mae Carnley Martin. He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a manager from Instant Whip Foods. He lived in Newnan for a number of years and enjoyed working in his yard. Survivors include his wife, Joy Martin of Newnan; son and daughter in-law, Marty and Dena Martin of Maumelle, AR; granddaughters, Ashley Shields of North Little Rock, AR and Jordan Martin of Conway, AR; a great-granddaughter, Ivy Shields; aunt, Louise Thomas Lynch of Jonesboro; and his "in-laws", JoAnn and Paul Shortsleeve of Sterling Park, MA, Jane Crews of Luthersville, Randall and Elaine Thomas of Moreland, Judy and Jim Turpin of Zebulon. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday.
