MRS. WILLIE MAE BOWEN Mrs. Willie Mae Bowen, 84, of Hogansville, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at Springhill Baptist Church. The Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery. Mrs. Bowen was born May 16, 1925, in Troup County, daughter of the late John Alton Ballantine and the late Pearl Estelle Scott Ballantine. She was attended Springhill Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Troup County. Survivors include two daughters and a son in-law, Virginia and James Farmer and Mae Mitchell, all of Hogansville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Lee Bowen, and her daughter, Brenda Joyce Bowen. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
