Mr. William Hoyt Whisenhunt, Sr., age 66, of Riddleville, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at his residence on Lake Sinclair.
A native of Meriwether County, Mr. Whisenhunt was the son of the late Henry Wayne Whisenhunt and the late Eunice Lenora Latimer Whisenhunt. He built and managed Cross Ties in Sandersville and was a sawmill builder and a maintenance contractor. Mr. Whisenhunt was a talented man who also built houses, sea walls and docks.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila M. Whisenhunt of Riddleville; a son, Wade Whisenhunt of Bowden; a daughter, Dee Whisenhunt of Buchanan; sisters, Hazel W. Burks of Grantville, Cookie W. Helton of Hogansville, and Vassie W. Roberts of Ft. Pierce, FL; a brother, Adam Whisenhunt of Carrollton; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, William Hoyt Whisenhunt, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6th, in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
