William Lee Veatch

Mr. William L. (Bill) Veatch, 86, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016, at his home. Mr. Veatch was born October 8, 1930, in Lexington, Kentucky, son of the late Guy and Corine Boone Veatch. He served in Germany in the U.S. Army and was then employed by Delta Airlines, retiring as a senior passenger service agent supervisor after 20 years of service. He had made his home in Meriwether County for 31 years. Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Micki and John McDonald of Carrollton, Melanie and Randy Gibson of Villa Rica; grandchildren, LeErin McDonald Handley and her husband Seth, Carole McDonald Hoff and her husband Alex, Katelyn Price Gibson, Garrett Veatch Gibson, John Austin McDonald, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Jason Michael McDonald; and great-grandchildren, Bailee Noele Handley and Luke Austin McDonald. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Campbell Veatch. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Willie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2, prior to the service. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
