William Howard Stone

MR. WILLIAM H. STONE Mr. William H. (Billy) Stone, fondly known by many as "Red", of Hogansville, died Friday, October 10, 2008, at his home. Born March 19, 1941, in Newnan, Mr. Stone was the son of the late Frank Howard Stone, Jr. and the late Christine Jones Stone. He was raised in Hogansville, was a 1959 graduate of Hogansville High School, and was a veteran of service in the U. S. Army. He served with the Georgia State Patrol for five years, retired from Eastern Airlines and lived in Fayette county until returning to Hogansville in 1991. Survivors include hs wife, Marianne C. Stone of Hogansville; son, Lt. Christopher S. Stone and his wife, Annette, of Sharpsburg; step-son, Michael W. Magnan of Hogansville; step-daughter, Melinda Mizzell and her husband Jerry, of Grantville; sister and brother in-law, Linda and Edgar Mashburn of Hogansville; grandson, Douglas Stone; and step-granddaughter, Samantha May Mizzell. The family will hold a memorial service at a later time. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
