William James (Bill) Sims

MR. WILLIAM JAMES (BILL) SIMS Mr. William James (Bill) Sims, 73, of Woodland, AL, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at his home. Born March 15, 1942 in Sylacauga, AL, Mr. Sims was the son of the late Johnny and Tavy Tarwater Sims. He retired from West Point Pepperell after 30 years of service. Survivors include his children, James and Gail Sims of Woodland, AL, William Lamar Sims, Christopher James Sims, both of Bowdon, Angela Simpson of Ranburne, AL, and Johnny Noble Sims of Carrolton; sister, Margaret Johnson of LaGrange; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Lamar Sims. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Jimmy Bowden will officiate and interment will be in the Pine Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
