William Grant (Bill) Roberts

Mr. William Grant "Bill" Roberts, 70, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his home. Mr. Roberts was born February 26, 1947, in Galveston, Texas, son of the late Jack Wilkerson Roberts and Irene Kelley Roberts. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University and was employed as an advertising sales representative for many years. He had lived in Greenville for the past thirty years and was a member of Greenville American Legion Post 186. Survivors include a number of cousins and their families, and many dear friends, including Peter and Barbara George and their children, including their daughter, Jaime Wise, who was Bill's goddaughter. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at the graveside in the Greenville Cemetery, with military honors. The Reverend Mark Raughton will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
