MR. WILLIAM R. (BILL) PERKINS Mr. William R. (Bill) Perkins, 81, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Reverend Gary Whatley and the Reverend John Mattox officiating. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 Thursday morning. Mr. Perkins was born December 19, 1931, in Hogansville, son of the late Willie Fowler Perkins and Cecil Johnson Perkins. A veteran of service in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he lived in Tuscon, AZ for 36 years before making his home in LaGrange in 2008. He retired as a supervisor from Pharmacil Laboratories and then served as a real estate agent for Red Carpet Realty in Tuscon. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, a life member of Builders Lodge #60, a member of Union Lodge #28, and a Shriner. Survivors include his sisters and brother in-law, Seba Ann Lanier of Valdosta, Sue and Claud Thompson of LaGrange; brothers and sisters in-law, Clinton and Carolyn Perkins of LaGrange, Rufus (Buck) and Betty Perkins of Hogansville, Harwell Lee Perkins of St. Simons Island; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann West Perkins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 10 until 11 Thursday, April 4th, at Claude A.
