William Lanier Lawson

MR. LANIER LAWSON Mr. William Lanier Lawson, 55, of Atlanta, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in a pedestrian accident in Henry county. Mr. Lawson was born December 24, 1952, in Fulton county, son of the late Esther Smith Mathis Lawson and the late William Lanier Mathis, and was raised by his adopted father, Richard Lawson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, lived in Troup county for a number of years, and was formerly employed at Milliken and Company in LaGrange. Survivors include his son, Jeremiah David Lawson of Atlanta; brothers and sister in-law, Russell and Melanie Lawson of West Point and Michael Lawson of Waynesboro, VA; and a granddaughter, Alexis Brooke Lawson. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Paul Lawson. The family will hold a memorial service later. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
