MR. BILL SMITH Mr. William James (Bill) Smith, 72, of Hogansville, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Willow Heim officiating The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately before and after the memorial service. Mr. Smith was born December 1, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late William and Marie Clare Smith. A veteran of service in the U. S. Navy, he was a retired truck driver and had lived in the Hogansville area for 43 years. Survivors include his wife, Pat Smith of Hogansville; daughter, Brenda Bassala of Lakewood, OH; sons, William (Bill) Smith of Lakewood, Brian Smith, Barry Cronic, and Greg Cronic, all of Hogansville; sisters, Carol Ann Scoville of Canton, OH, Jackie Barry of Lakewood, Kathleen Smith and Pat Moore, both of Cleveland, OH; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sky Animal Rescue, 1734 East Main St., Hogansville, GA 30230. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
