Mr. William A. (Bill) Cook, 82, of Luthersville, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Cook was born December 25, 1934, in Meriwether County, son of the late William Willie Cook and Maud Strickland Cook. A resident of Meriwether County most of his life, he lived in Coweta County for twelve years, was employed at Beavers Packing Co. for 20 years, and retired from Coca-Cola after 15 years of service. He was a member and deacon of Luthersville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Shelia and Craig Simpson of Luthersville; granddaughters, Monica Wargofcak and her husband Cory of Luthersville, Stephanie Weiher and her husband John of Lone Oak; great-grandchildren, Emma Wargofcak and Wyatt Wargofcak. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Johnson Cook; daughter, Teresa Hamby; son in-law, Doug Hamby; four sisters; and two brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15, at Luthersville Baptist Church, with the Reverend Winston Skinner and the Reverend Joe Felder officiating. Interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11 Thursday morning.
