William "Bud" Cathcart

Mr. William "Bud" Cathcart, 89, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday June 30, 2016, at LaGrange Nursing Rehab in LaGrange. Mr. Cathcart was born December 25, 1926, in LaGrange, son of the late Berman Thompson Cathcart and Mary Bell Pendergrass Cathcart. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion in Hogansville, and was Baptist by faith. Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Debbie and Ray Hill of Franklin; son, Duane Cathcart of Hogansville; sister, Shirley Langford of LaGrange; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Rigsby and a great-grandson, Tucker Laws. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeremy Royster will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
