MR. WILLIAM E. BURKETT Mr. William Eugene Burkett, 63, of LaGrange, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, at Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville, with the Reverend Mark Cooper officiating. Interment will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends at Antioch Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday. Mr. Burkett was born August 18, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, son of the late Frank William Burkett and the late Allene Wilkins Burkett. A veteran of service in the U. S. Army, he had lived in LaGrange for thirty years and retired as a production supervisor from Emerson Company. Survivors include son, Frank and Stacy Burkett, and grandchildren, Landon Wilson and Paxton Dean, all of Hogansville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Burkett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
