William R. "Bill" Burke

Mr. William R. "Bill" Burke, 75, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Burke was born January 4, 1947, in LaGrange, son of the late Riley and Frankie Mae Pittenger Burke. A veteran of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, he retired as a respiratory therapist from West Georgia Medical Center after 22 years of service. He was a member of the American Association of Respiratory Therapists and was a longtime member of The Active Life Center in LaGrange. Mr. Burke was an avid golfer, having participated in many tournaments, and enjoyed shooting pool.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Burke; daughter, Jessica Burke; son and daughter in-law, Michael and LeeAnn Sarno, all of LaGrange; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend B J Bowers officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday.
