WILLIAM D. BOWEN
Mr. William D. Bowen, 77, of Woodstock, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Rick Todd officiating.
Mr. Bowen was born June 3, 1931, in Roanoke, Alabama, son of the late Troy Bowen and the late Ellie Hale Bowen Barnhill. A former resident of Hogansville, he had lived in the Atlanta area for forty years, retired as body shop manager for Nalley Trucks, and also retired from Brinks Security. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Todd Bowen of Woodstock; daughters and son in-law, Belinda Zabetakis of Woodstock and Beth and Rick Stewart of Canton; sister, Betty Searcy of Sharpsburg; brother, Terry Barnhill, also of Sharpsburg; four granddaughters, Shannon Stewart, Brittany Stewart, Brooke Stewart, and Alexis Zabetakis; and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Howell.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
