William G. (Bill) Beck

July 5, 1937 — February 16, 2020

Mr. William G. (Bill) Beck, 82, of Luthersville, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mr. Beck was born July 5, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan, son of the late William and Elizabeth Diehl Beck. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he retired from General Motors Foundry Division in Saginaw and moved to Meriwether County in 1999. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife, Mavis Murphy Beck of Luthersville; daughter, Deborah Ann Raines and her husband Charles of Luthersville; sons, William Michael Beck and his wife, Tina of Warren, Michigan, Timothy James Beck of Luthersville; sister, Virda Slocum of Saginaw; brother, Donald Beck of Mio, Michigan; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with military honors. Pastor Brian Hosmer will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4, Sunday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
