Mr. Willard Carthell Hancock, 81, of Moreland, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Hancock was born June 15, 1939, in Lanett, Alabama, son of the late James Roy Hancock and Sara Rush Hancock. A resident of Coweta County most of his life, he was Baptist by faith, and retired from James River Corporation in Newnanafter 37 years of service. He loved being outdoors and working in his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Sybil Kee Hancock of Moreland; daughters, Kathy Hancock of Moreland, Donna Arrington of Hogansville; sons, Joe Hancock of Newnan, Tommy Hancock of Moreland; sisters, Willie Mae Smith and Jeanette Whatley, both of Newnan; brothers, Grady Hancock of Buford, Lester Hancock of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jacob Hancock, Chris Arrington, Christy and Robert McLendon, Samantha and Brian Shirey, Jason Arrington; great-grandchildren, Vanity McLendon, Brianna Shirey, Blake Shirey, Zach McLendon, Tyler Shirey, Hunter McLendon, Michael McLendon, Dalton McLendon, Arianna Arrington, Scarlett Arrington; a special friend, Howard Gaddy; and his fur-baby, Cupcake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in-law, Wayne Arrington, and granddaughter in-law, Kim Arrington.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6, at Faith Baptist Church, 307 Church St. in Hogansville, with Pastor Russell Arrington and Pastor Wade Arrington officiating
The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3 Sunday afternoon.
