PASTOR WILBURN FISHER
Pastor Wilburn H. Fisher, 75, of Sharpsburg, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at Grace Covenant Worship Center in Hogansville. Pastor Alex Montgomery and the Reverend Ken Crocker will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Born June 30, 1932 in Henshaw county, KY, Mr. Fisher was the son of the late Samuel Franklin Fisher and the late Ida Mae Lacefield Fisher. He was a graduate of Southwestern Bible College and served as a musician and minister for 57 years. He served as an evangelist, traveling to a number of foreign countries, and then served churches in Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Foreman Fisher of Sharpsburg; daughter and son in-law, Denise and the Reverend Ray Hughes of Middlesboro, KY; sons and daughter in-law, David and Nancy Fisher of Sharpsburg and Daniel Fisher of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, David Fisher, Jr. and his fiancee, Missy Hinds, Joshua and Lisa Fisher, Jennifer Fisher and her fiancee, Jamie Simpson, Elizabeth Sickles, Amy Sickles, Ramey and Brian Whalen, Justin and Celia Hughes, and Nathan Hughes; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Fisher and Madison Fisher.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
