Mr. Wilbur Reed Kelley, 85, of Grantville, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Mr. Kelley was born October 30, 1931, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, son of the late Conrad and Cora B. Kelley. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Clayton County before making his home in Grantville and retired as a mechanic from Consolidated Freight Lines. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kelley of Grantville; daughters and son in-law, Cynthia and David Burnley of Marietta, Sandra Mayes of Grantville; sons and daughters in-law, Richard and Lynn Kelley of Sharpsburg, Daniel Kelley of Grantville, John Kelley of Florida, Robert and Jack Kelley of Arlington, TX; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and other family members, Pete Lehman and Margaret Lehman.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with military honors by the United States Navy. The Reverend Frank Sledge will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night and from 1 until 2 Wednesday afternoon.
