MR. WENDELL B. WIGGINS Mr. Wendell B. Wiggins, 71, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, at his home. Born February 1, 1943, in LaGrange, Mr. Wiggins was the son of the late William and Ila Embry Wiggins. He served four years in the U. S. Coast Guard and two years in the U. S. Army before making his home in Columbus in 1968, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbus College. He retired from AFLAC/Communicorp after more than 25 years of service, and was an active member and deacon of Edgewood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frankie Wiggins of Columbus; son and daughter in-law, Todd and Kate Wiggins of Brooklyn, NY; granddaughter, Georgia Rose Wiggins; and sister, Wanda Jones of Grantville; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 29, at Edgewood Baptist Church, with the Reverend David Howle, the Reverend Andy Merritt and the Reverend Jim Hilderbrand officiating. The family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, 3564 Forrest Rd., Columbus, GA 31907, or to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
