Wendell Lamar Harris

MR. WENDELL L. HARRIS Mr. Wendell L. Harris, 65, of Buford, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, at Open Door Baptist Church in Flowery Branch. Pastor Lee Benton will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 until 11 Saturday morning. Mr. Harris was born March 10, 1947, in Hogansville, son of the late Oscar and Christine Burke Harris. A U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he lived in the Atlanta area most of his life and retired from Habasit America in Suwanee after 28 years of service. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Gordy, and is survived by a number of cousins; his church family; and several very dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Baptist Church, P. O. Box 870, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
