Mr. Wayne Tucker, 82, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Tucker was born January 26, 1940, in Hogansville, son of the late Grady and Jessie Collier Tucker. He was a longtime employee of American Can and James River Corporations, retired from Graphic Packaging International, and served as local union president for a number of years. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and using his tractor.
Survivors include his wife, Evvy Tucker; son and daughter in-law, Greg and Cindy Tucker; step-sons, Billy Powers, Dean Powers and his wife Jan, and Randy Powers; grandchildren, Greg Tucker, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Jonathan Tucker; step-grandson, Tray Powers and Alec Powers; nine great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Veal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tray Tucker; sisters, Lola Mae Corley and Bobbie Mason; and brothers, Frank Tucker and Billy Tucker.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Barney Howard and Mr. Kevin Wegienka will officiate and interment will in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday.
