Wayne "Slim" Howard

MR. WAYNE HOWARD Mr. Wayne "Slim" Howard, 75, of Grantville, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at his home. Born February 16, 1937, in Lanett, Alabma, Mr. Howard was the son of the late Arthur Lee Howard and Pearl Riley Howard. He was a veteran of service in the U. S. Army, was a member of the Hogansville American Legion Post, and was a lifelong resident of Hogansville and Grantville. He retired from Ford Motor Company Hapeville Plant after 30 years of service. Survivors include his children, Terry Butterworth and her husband Bill of Woodstock, Dale Howard and his wife Cathy of Snellville, Lionel Howard and his wife Nancy of Corinth, Diane Howard and Robbie Swank of Grantville, Nan Howard and Gary Davis of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Howard; and his brother, John Howard. A gathering to remember his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
