Walter Lee Pierce

Mr. Walter Lee Pierce, 80, of LaGrange and formerly of Newnan, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015, at his home. Mr. Pierce was born January 8, 1935, in Hogansville, son of the late Frank Pierce and Mary Woodruff Pierce. He lived in Newnan for more than fifty years, was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Newnan, and retired from Shaw Industries. Known for the love that he had for his family, his priority was to be certain that their needs were met. Survivors include his daughter, Deborah McLamb of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, Michael and Nixola Pierce of Newnan; sister, Patricia McVay of Lanett, AL; grandchildren, Christina, Wayne, Kathleen, Cassie and Nicholas; and a great-granddaughter, Hazel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene Winkles Pierce. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Joe Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 until 11 Tuesday morning. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
