MR. WALLACE A. COOK
Mr. Wallace A. Cook, 86, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Willow Heim and the Reverend Clinton Hughes will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Cook was born August 8, 1923, in Columbia, South Carolina, son of the late Frank and Gladys Gay Cook. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War Two and was a member of the Marine Corps League in LaGrange. He retired from Gulf Life Insurance Company after 34 years service, was a member of the Oldtimers Club with Gulf, St. James United Methodist Church in Hogansville, and the Hogansville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Tony and Martha Cook of Newnan; granddaughters and grandson in-law, Tonya and Robbie Hall of Sharpsburg and Danelle Cook of Atlanta; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Hall and Ethan Robert Hall. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Leonard Cook.
