MR. ROY CRAVEN
Mr. Roy Craven, 86, of Hogansville and formerly of Newnan, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at Heritage Healthcare of Franklin.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Dorothy Herndon and the Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.
Mr. Craven was born April 16, 1922, in Troup county, son of the late Jessie and Inez Harrison Craven. He served in the U.S. Army during World War Two, lived in Newnan for thirty years, and was retired from Douglas and Lomasson Company. He enjoyed Glenn Miller music and crafting model airplanes, and had a great appreciation for classic automobiles and trucks.
Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Marie and Anthony Taylor and Glenice and Chris Mote. all of Newnan, and Barbie and Steve Edwards of Boulder, MT; sons, Ricky Craven of Newnan and Greg Craven of Hogansville; step-daughter, Arlene Lowery; step-son, Eddie Byrd; sister in-law, Katherine Craven of Hogansville; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Griffith Craven, and daughter, Sallie Craven.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
