MR. W.E. CARTER
Mr. W. E. Carter, 86, of Hogansville, died Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater and the Reverend Rick Todd will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
Mr. Carter was born October 21, 1926, in Newnan, son of the late William Earl Carter and Christine Hesterlee Carter McWhorter. A veteran of service in the U. S. Navy, he lived in Hogansville most of his life, was a member and deacon of Highland Baptist Church, and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 48 years of service. He was an avid camper and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Todd Carter of Hogansville; daughter, Mary Ellen Wright of Hogansville, son and daughter in-law, Tim and Debra Carter of Milner; grandchildren, Charlie Wright and his wife B.J., Jimmy Carter, and Louie Carter; great-grandchildren, Ashton Wright and Carson Wright; and brother and sister in-law, Randy and Brenda McWhorter of Hogansville.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
