Mrs. Vivian L. Lowe, 95, of LaGrange and formerly of Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Lowe was born April 13, 1928, in Chamois, MO, daughter of the late Clemmie Victor LeCure and Lila Benson LeCure. She earned a Bachelors degree from the University of South Dakota and was a Phi Beta Kappa. Following her marriage, she and her late husband taught high school in American Samoa for two years, and then traveled through Australia, India, and Europe as they returned to the United States. She made her home in northern Virginia from 1952 until 2016, where she served as a volunteer for various groups, including the Democratic Party in Falls Church, VA. She had been a resident of Vernon Woods in LaGrange since 2016.
Survivors include her sons and daughter in-law, Bill and Wanda Lowe of Hogansville and Scott Lowe of Bloomsburg, PA; grandchildren, Lewis Lowe (Jessica Kahanek) of Washington, DC, Jessica Lowe (Jake Baigis) of Nashville, TN, Ian Lowe (Carolina Guardiola) of Venice, CA, Alexander Lowe (Katie Lowe) of Philadelphia, PA, Rebecca Lowe (Kyle Stokes) of Bend, OR; great-grandchildren, Joseph Lowe and Charles Lowe of Washington; sisters, Jackie Allen of Lemoore, CA, Joan Gore of Mableton, GA, Vickie Pickering of Syracuse, NE; sister in-law, Mary LeCure of Macungie, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Anderson Lowe; two sisters; and a brother.
Mrs. Lowe will be buried with her husband in Madison, South Dakota at a later time.
