Mrs. Vivian Nelson Breed, 88, of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, at Pruitt Healthcare Center in Greenville. Mrs. Breed was born March 28, 1927, in Rome, daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude Tippin Nelson. A resident of Meriwether County most of her life, she was a member of Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Lone Oak and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. in Hogansville. She was the wife of the late Calvin Hooper Breed and is survived by her brothers and sisters in-law, Ralph and Pauline Nelson of Carrollton, Edwin and Louise Nelson of Lone Oak, George and Krista Nelson of Stockbridge; sister, Frances Collier of Duluth; sisters in-law, Helen Nelson of Lilburn and Judy Nelson of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Miriam Collier and Evelyn Gentry, and brothers, Clarence Nelson and Sherwin Nelson. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael McFarland will officiate and interment will be in Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2, Sunday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
