Virginia Hawk Vessell

MRS. VIRGINIA H. VESSELL Mrs. Virginia Hawk Vessell, 77, of the Corinth Community, died Thursday, November 10, 2011, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend J. E. Thornton and the Reverend Dorothy Herndon will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Friday night. Mrs. Vessell was born August 14, 1934, in Corinth, daughter of the late Clifford and Gladys Moore Hawk. A lifelong resident of Corinth, she was a homemaker, a member of Corinth Baptist Church, and wife of the late Johnnie Vessell. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Brenda and Larry Williamson of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Rocky and Viki Vessell of LaGrange; sister, Betty Ann Brown of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Donna and Scott Brown of Corinth, Jamie and Jennifer Williamson of Newnan; and great-grandchildren who she called her grand-angels, Hope Brown, Colton Williamson, Annabelle Williamson. Her family would like to express special appreciation to her nieces, Linda Edwards, Becky Aikin, Bobbie Pike, and Sandy Johnson, for their loving care. Claude A.
