Mrs. Virginia Lee Thompson, 88, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Thompson was born June 1, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Grant and Maud Marsh Cameron. A resident of Florida for many years, she spent most of her life as a homemaker but had also served as a personal caregiver. She had lived in Meriwether County for the past seven years and was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Newnan. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Iva and Kenneth Craig of Greenville; sons and daughters in-law, Roy and Diane Haney of Luthersville, Jerry and Debbie Haney of Hogansville, Paul and Rachel Haney of Greenville; niece whom she considered a sister, Connie Allman of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Max Thompson, daughter, Cindy Haney Hook; son, Jimmy Haney; and grandchildren, Ansley Crawley and Isaiah Rush. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at the graveside in Woodland Cemetery in Port Orange, FL, with the Reverend Mark Spivey officiating.
