Virginia Harvey Heard

Mrs. Virginia Harvey Heard, 76, of Powder Springs, passed away, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Wellstar Paulding Hospital in Hiram.

Born December 4, 1945, in Atlanta, Mrs. Heard was the daughter of the late James R. Harvey, Sr. and Ethel Idell Stephens Harvey. She was a good Christian woman who enjoyed watching evangelism on television, and loved her grandchildren and animals.

Survivors include her husband, Everett Heard of Powder Springs; step-daughter, Madria Snelling of Tallapoosa; grandchildren, Tristan Keith, Collin Reed, Chase Bolan, Jessica Snelling, and Janice Murphy; a great-grandchild, Killian Murphy; sister, Connie L. Harvey of Acworth; brothers, Larry E. Harvey and his wife Patricia (Patti) of Vinings and James "Jim" Harvey, Jr. and his wife Faye of Jasper; sister in-law, Eleanor Washington of LaGrange; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley La'Shae Heard; stepdaughter, LeeAnn Nicholson; sisters, Brenda Weaver and Patricia Harvey; and a brother, Robert Harvey.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. util 2:00 p.m., Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
