Virginia Bowen Farmer

Mrs. Virginia Bowen Farmer, 83, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the home of her granddaughter in LaGrange.

Mrs. Farmer was born September 11, 1942, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Gilbert Lee Bowen and Willie Mae Ballantine Bowen. A lifelong resident of Troup County, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Farmer of Hogansville; grandchildren, Jenna Barentine, Jacob Wilson; great-grandchildren, Blake Phipps, Jayden Barentine, Bellamy Rogers, Everly Phelan; and sister, Eura Mae Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Farmer; daughter, Lynne Wilson; daughter in-law, Elaine Farmer; and grandson, Shaun Phipps.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, at the graveside in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating.

The family will greet friends at the graveside.
