Virgilene Massey Pollard

Mrs. Virgilene Massey Pollard, 76 of Moreland, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Born September 19, 1941 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Pollard was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Massey. She was a lifelong resident of the Coweta and Meriwether County area, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Sylvia and Juan Rodela of Moreland; sons, Curtis Flournoy of Newnan and Earnest Flournoy of Moreland; sisters, Louise Scott of Madras, Katherine Jones of Greenville, Lottie Mae Stewart of Jenkinsburg, and Lunette Massey of LaGrange; brothers, James Massey of Luthersville and Donald Massey of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Pollard and a son, David Massey. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Jason Veitch and Pastor Russell Arrington will officiate and interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
