VIRGIL PHILLIP COLLINS

Mr. Virgil Phillip Collins, 70 of LaGrange, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital.

Born November 15, 1952 in LaGrange, Mr. Collins was the son of the late Virgil Enich Collins and Willie Voncile Lemley Collins. He was a lifelong resident of LaGrange, a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a member of Hillyer Baptist Church. Mr. Collins enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, and "supervising".

Survivors include his wife, Debra Collins of LaGrange; sons and daughter in-law, Christopher and Rebecca Collins and Jason Collins, all of LaGrange; sisters, Cathy Overby of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Rachel Cleaver of Smyrna; and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his son, Eric Collins and a sister, Sheila Burtron.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at Hillyer Baptist Church with the Reverend Cleve Moore officiating.
