Violet Kathleen "Kathy" West

Mrs. Violet Kathleen "Kathy" West, 79, of Grantville, formerly of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away Sunday October 13, 2024 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Born April 1, 1945 in Shock, West Virginia, Mrs. West was the daughter of the late Archie Monroe Cottrill and Ruth Adeana Perkins Cottrill, and was a lifelong resident of West Virginia, until recently moving to Grantville. She was a hard worker who retired at age 77 from Nichols Graphics after many years of service, was an avid gardener, enjoyed working in her yard, and loved her puzzle books and romance novels. Mrs. West loved and cared deeply for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Teddy West of Grantville; children, Donna Mazon (Paul) of Wilkesboro, NC, Virgil McCumbers (Donna) of Waynesburg, PA, Lisa Baker (Bobby) of Grantville, Edna Venditti (Douglas) of Wilkesboro, NC, Crystal Murphy of Glenville, WV, David McCumbers (Noelle) of El Paso, TX, Lisa West of Limestone, TN, Linda West, Phillip West, Jeremy West, all of Spencer, WV, and Lori Eldridge (Douglas) of Limestone, TN; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by her daughter, Deloris K. Paxton; sons, Rondle McCumbers, Jr., Ronnie McCumbers, Jim McCumbers; and a grandson, Rondle Ray "Moey" McCumbers.

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. West will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in West Virginia at a later date.
