Mrs. Velma Arrington Gray, 82, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Gray was born April 13, 1933, in Bowdon, daughter of the late Amos and Arizona Bailey Arrington. She lived in Valley, AL before returning to make her home in Hogansville in 1998, was Baptist by faith, and retired from Goetz Gasket in LaGrange.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Brenda and Dennis Sims of Hogansville, Cathy and Steve Hendrix of LaGrange; grandchildren, Michelle and Greg Morris of LaGrange, Chris and Susan Sims of Moreland, Christina and Brandon Christie and Megan Hendrix, all of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Trevor Morris, Gunnar Morris, Will Thrower, Brayden James, Tinley Christie and Aiden Hendrix; her sister, Elizabeth Aldridge of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Donald Yancey will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night.
