Tony E. Weems

Mr. Tony Weems, 88, of Pine Mountain, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Weems was born November 24, 1935, in College Park, son of the late Troy Earl Weems, Sr. and Elizabeth Lucille Shortt Weems. A veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force, he had made his home in Pine Mountain for 47 years and retired after serving as a service manager for several area auto dealerships. He was a member of Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church and was an ordained minister. Mr. Weems was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed archery and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Weems of Pine Mountain; sons, Robert Weems and his fiancée Stacey Lewis of Leesburg, James Weems and his wife Shannon Weems of Pine Mountain; grandchildren, Carter Weems, Coleman Weems, and Caroline Weems. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emily Rice; and brothers, Norman Weems, Earl Weems, and Buell Weems.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 22, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Kevin Buttrum will officiate and interment will be in Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service.
