MRS. TOMMIE NELL PITTS
Mrs. Tommie Nell Pitts, 81, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Durwood Perry and the Reverend Jake Dudley will officiate and interment will be in Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 Thursday night and at other times will be at the home of her granddaughter, Mona Evans at 885 Warner Rd. in West Point.
Mrs. Pitts was born August 24, 1932, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Charles Virgil Bowles and Addie Lee Brown Bowles. A lifelong resident of LaGrange, she was a member of Teaver Road Baptist Church, was employed for more than twenty years at Dairy Queen of LaGrange, and retired from Five Star Foods.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Shelnutt (Tim Wilson) of West Point; granddaughters, Mona and Rodney Evans of West Point, Kayla and Jared Greathouse of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Lakyn, R.J., Cooper, Gregory, and Jay; sisters, Virginia Smith of Roanoke, AL, Rebecca and Roy Moore of LaGrange; and brother, Terrell and Betty Bowles of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Alley.
Flowers are accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange.
