MR. TOBY R. PIKE
Mr. Toby R. Pike, 85, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Pike was born September 20, 1929, in LaGrange, son of the late Milam David Pike and Mildred Cardwell Pike. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves, he lived in Troup County most of his life, was a member of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, and retired as a shipping supervisor after fifty years of service with Callaway Mills and Milliken and Co. Mr. Pike was a very talented baseball player, having played in the textile leagues and then having coached Little League for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Ledford Pike; daughters and sons in-law, Pat and Steve Pressley, Susan and Dick Holland and Donna Pike; sons and daughters in-law, Terry and Connie Pike, Danny and Ruth Butler ,all of LaGrange; sister, Mary Ann Pike Neese of Hogansville; grandchildren, Tabitha and Adam Coursey, Terry Pike, Jr., Calli Gray, Brandi and Roger Williams, Jamie and Dusty Helton, Lindsay and Bubba Earnest; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brandon Brooks and the Reverend Donald Yancey will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4 Tuesday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LaGrange Shrine Club (for Shriners Childrens Hospitals), 239 N. Brooks Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240; or to Faith Baptist Church, 552 Hammett Rd., LaGrange, GA 30241.
