Thurmon Stewart

Mr. Thurmon Stewart, 79, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at his home. Born September 7, 1942, in Clay County, Alabama, Mr. Stewart was the son of the late Dolphus and Macy Brown Stewart. He retired from the Carter Company in Hogansville, enjoyed watching wrestling, and loved playing his guitar. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Geeter Stewart of LaGrange; children, Thurmon Eugene Stewart (Janice) of Rockmart, Susan McCormick (Wayne) of Dadeville, AL, Sabrina White (Ken) of Hogansville, Lisa McCormick (Joey) of LaGrange, Nancy Handley also of LaGrange; sisters, Margaret Ramos, Frances Taylor, Hazel Singletary, all of Tifton; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael White will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
