Thomas L. (Lem) Kee

MR. LEM KEE Mr. Thomas L. (Lem) Kee, 88, of Grantville, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at the First Baptist Church of Grantville. The Reverend Jay Moore and the Reverend Ed Wyatt will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. Mr. Kee was born October 21, 1920, in Heard county, son of the late Alvin Freeman Kee and the late Lizzie Caldwell Kee. An Army veteran of World War Two, he served in the European Theatre of operations. He lived in Grantville most of his life, was employed by the City of Grantville following his retirement from West Point Pepperell, was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Grantville, and was a longtime member of Luther G. Watkins Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Mary Alice Hogan Kee; son and daughter in-law, Bill and Delores Kee, of Grantville; daughters and sons in-law, Linda and Tony Martinez of Houston, TX, Marie and Gary Cauthen of Newnan, Yvette and Bob Haralson of Pounding Mill, VA; four grandchildren, Matthew Cauthen, Jennifer and Dan Pahl, Kevin Haralson, and Allison Haralson; great-granddaughter, Lily Marie Pahl; sister, Lourette McCollum of Hogansville; brother, David Kee of Jonesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, William (Bud) Kee, James Kee, Martha Boone, Bethel White, and Rowena Kee. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Friday night, March 6th, at Claude A.
