Mr. Thomas H. (Tommy) Hornsby, 78, of Sandy Springs, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Hornsby was born August 15, 1937, in Albany, son of the late Preston and Fostina Daughtry Hornsby. He was a resident of the Atlanta area most of his life, he retired as an aircraft mechanic from Delta Airlines after 32 years of service and then retired from Gulfstream Aerospace after 5 years of service. He was a member of Hogansville Church of God and a 1955 graduate of Hogansville High School.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Hornsby of Sandy Springs; daughter, Tina Dotson of Marietta; sons, Thomas Hornsby, Jr. of Oscoda, MI, Wayne Hornsby and his wife Cheryl of Portland, TN; brothers, Frank Hornsby and his wife JoAnn, and Curtis Hornsby, all of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Landers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Max McCord officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 until 1:00 Wednesday.
