The Reverend Johnie C. Nunis

The Reverend Johnie C. Nunis, 91, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018, at Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mr. Nunis was born September 18, 1926, in Carroll County, son of the late William Thomas Nunis and Alice Daniel Nunis. A resident of LaGrange since 1961, he owned and operated Professional Tree Surgeons in LaGrange for more than 50 years and had also served as pastor of Grantville Church of God. Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Guess and her husband Marcus of Stevenson, AL and Angie Lanier of Bremen; son, Rodney Nunis of LaGrange; sister, Chestine Wiggins of Carrollton; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tavie Johnson Nunis, and his daughter, Sandra Gail Hardy. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeff Maxwell and the Reverend Doug Hardy will officiate and entombment will be in Shadowlawn Mausoleum in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Sunday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
