REV. HUBERT L. WORLEY
A minister of the Gospel has gone home. We rejoice that he is now experiencing the beauty and joy of being in God's presence.
The Reverend Hubert L. Worley, 69, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, October 14, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, at Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange. The Reverend Brad Thompson, Dr. Kenneth Overby, and the Reverend Bruce Freeman will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mr. Worley was born June 8, 1940, in LaGrange, son of the late Cecil and Evie Shaddix Worley. He was ordained at Shoal Creek Baptist Church and served as a Baptist minister for over 30 years. He served a number of churches during his ministry, including Mountville Baptist Church, Concord Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church in Grantville, Victory Baptist Church in Lanett, AL, and High Pines Baptist Church in Roanoke, AL.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Scott Worley of LaGrange; his children, Richard Scott Worley and his wife, Donna, of Mountville, Tracy Smith and her husband, Matt of Hogansville, and Sherrie Fetner and her husband, Brandon of LaGrange; sister, Nonie Wilkie of LaGrange; brothers, Edward Worley of Hogansville and Monroe Worley of LaGrange, and eight grandchildren, Ethan Worley, Maegan Worley, Jordan Smith, Drew Smith, Seth Smith, Sara Beth Smith, Caleb Fetner, and Eryn Fetner.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
