Mr. Terry Hanner, 69 of Hogansville, passed away, Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan. Born September 8, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL, Mr. Hanner was the son of the late Lee James Hanner and Letrell Scrimshire Hanner. A U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired from Georgia Power after 35 years of service, had lived in Hogansville for 34 years, and was a member of Christ The Redeemer Church in LaGrange. Mr. Hanner enjoyed Georgia Bulldog football and loved spending time with his family, who affectionately called him "Pops". Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Hanner of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Ashley and Ben McWhorter; sons and daughters in-law, Nicky and Lee Ann Hanner of Hogansville and Scotty and Erin Hanner of LaGrange; brother and sister in-law, Dr. Richard and Regina Hanner of Hogansville; and five grandchildren, Devin Brock, Courtney Hanner, Brooklyn Brisky, Austin Hanner, and Cohen McWhorter. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hanner was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Hanner. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Dr. Richard Hanner, the Reverend Joe Sacco, and the Reverend John Paul Jordon will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday evening. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Mr. Hanner's church family that he loved dearly, Christ the Redeemer Church, Attn: Richard Hanner, 32 Sunny Brook Dr., Hogansville, GA 30230.
